FEES
Fees apply for any sessions not covered by Early Years Education (EYE) funding.
You can use your EYE-funded hours for sessions from: 9.00am - 3.00pm 9.00am - Midday Midday - 3.00pm
Fees continue to be payable if a child is absent, in cases of prolonged absence parents should contact the Manager about payment. Each child's attendance at the preschool is conditional upon payment of any necessary fees and or completion of the Early Years Grant Forms. For any child not receiving the Early Years Grant a deposit of two (2) weeks fees are required on acceptance of a place at the preschool. A child’s place can be re-allocated if fees are overdue by two (2) weeks. The Early Years Grant offers 570 hours total per child's eligible birthday year. No more than fifteen (15) hours free per week between two Early Years Education approved establishments. Late collection of a/your child will incur a charge.
The preschool closes for 5 in-house training days per year.
We have a breakfast club for children attending preschool only from 8.30am-9.00am Monday to Friday. There is a charge for these sessions.
| Early Years Education (EYE) GrantThe government have introduced a new website Childcare Choices, this brings together all the childcare offers, helping parents find the right childcare support to suit them. The new childcare choices website provides information on the new and existing Government Childcare offers. More information can be obtained from www.childcarechoices.gov.uk Early Years childcare support is expanding. From September 2025, 15 hours for working families with children under 3 will expand to 30 hours, meaning eligible working families can now apply for 30 hours of childcare from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age. If you currently receive 15 hours for working parents, just reconfirm as usual and the code will work for the 30 hours offer in September, providing you remain eligible. Starlings Preschool enrol children from the age of 2 years. Help paying for your childcare:You can combine your EYE funding with other childcare programs like Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit Childcare. For more details, visit childcarechoices.gov.uk All children in Hampshire are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare and education per week for 38 weeks of the year (up to 570 hours), commencing the term after their third birthday. This funding is provided because early learning gives children the best start in life. Through learning and playing with other children in a safe and structured environment, they'll have a head start when they begin school.

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) provides extra funding for eligible 2, 3, and 4-year-olds, paid based on the number of hours of early years education (EYE) claimed, up to a maximum of 570 hours per year. Eligibility is determined by the benefits a family is receiving or if the child is in the care of a local authority.
